Starr Guitars was born from a deep, lifelong love of music and the instruments that shape it.
For founder Kip, that obsession started as a young boy, mesmerized by the rock legends of the ‘70s. The sound, the spectacle, the guitars—it all sparked something inside him.
That spark grew into years of playing, touring, and ultimately mastering the craft of building and restoring guitars.
Along the way, he learned firsthand what makes a great instrument—not just how it looks, but how it feels, sounds, and inspires.

In 2007, Starr Guitars took shape in Orlando, Florida, as a full-service shop for custom builds, repairs, restorations, and high-quality finishes.
It wasn’t long before word spread, and musicians, collectors, and boutique builders came to us for our attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
What started as a small shop with big passion became a trusted name in the industry.
Through it all, we stayed true to our roots—focused on quality, creativity, and a shared love of great guitars.

Our love for music flows through every fiber of our collective being, here at Starr Guitars! We all agree on that.
I know for me, that passion was kindled over four decades ago, when I sat in my living room as a young boy, watching the birth of musical legends on my television set. These were the iconic acts of the '70s, whose performances were a sheer spectacle of dazzling lights, swirling smoke, explosive pyrotechnics, and thunderous sound—leaving an indelible mark on my soul.
It wasn’t just the wild theatrics that hooked me. Beneath the swirling fog, the blinding lights, and the blur of sweat-soaked bodies, I found the true source of my obsession—the guitars. Sleek, snarling, and full of untamed energy, they weren’t just instruments; they were the pulse of the chaos, the heart of the magic!
There began my unyielding journey into the wonderful world of music and guitar building!
